The Singapore Grand Prix on the 11th of October is Formula 1’s original night race, and still one of the most demanding weekends on the calendar. The Marina Bay circuit is a tight, unforgiving street track, and the heat and humidity ask a lot of both the cars and the drivers. It’s a five-night trip, which gives you time to follow the story of the weekend from the first practice session to the final lap on Sunday. You have two hotel options for your stay, and both include tickets for the practice, qualifying, and race day sessions. Your first option is the Sheraton Towers. It’s set back from the main road, with a large, landscaped garden and waterfall at its entrance. It’s a classic Singapore hotel, so you’ll find the service is very polished. From here, it’s a straightforward taxi ride to the circuit. The other choice is the St. Regis. It’s located nearer to the Orchard Road area and is known for its private art collection displayed throughout the hotel. Every guest has access to the St. Regis butler service. It’s a different kind of atmosphere, more akin to a grand residence.

Dress code

While there's no official dress code for the Singapore Grand Prix, it's wise to opt for loose-fitting clothes since September in Singapore can get pretty humid. Given the occasional downpour during the late summer months, having a light waterproof jacket or an umbrella handy is a smart move. Keep in mind that whatever shoes you decide to sport, might end up a bit dirty and damp. Especially around the Padang Stage concert area, which is set on grass—imagine what happens after a quick thunderstorm!

Weather

During the Singapore Grand Prix, temperatures can reach the high 20s to early 30s degrees Celsius with high humidity. Loose-fitting clothing is best to stay comfortable during your exciting few days away. While thunderstorms are common, they typically pass within an hour. In heavy rain, like in 2022, the race may be delayed for safety.

Formula 1 Singapore The main thing for us was that we were able to move our seats so we got a better view, it was a long way to go to just see the back of a car, what would have been even better was to have been able to go into the paddock area or even be close to the start or finish line but that I guess would have been a lot more expensive!! I was just grateful to have the experience of going to see Formula 1 in Singapore!
