A Day At Lords.
My experience was the first day at Lords for the Test Match against the West Indies. It was the second time I had been to Lords with Imperial Corporate and so I knew it would be a good day. From the moment of walking into the venue the service is faultless. The staff do everything in their power to make the day special and they are tireless in their energy throughout the day. The food was superb - starting with breakfast on arrival, then a delicious 4 course lunch followed by an excellent afternoon tea. In fact the meals, and the company of the other guests at our table, occupied so much time we had to drag ourselves away to enjoy the cricket. The only downside of the day is the distance needed to walk to get from the hospitality to the cricket stand, which has to be done at least three times during the day, and more each time to collect drinks to consume whilst watching the cricket. I would also have liked to have some say in choosing my seat in the stand. Being 84 years old it would have been useful if the Imperial Corporate staff had taken this into consideration when allocating the seats. Many much more spritely people had the advantage of not having to climb so may stairs as I and were sitting in positions that didn't require them to constantly have to stand to let people in and out. But the hospitality, the guests at our table and the waiting staff made this an occasion to be remembered. A thoroughly enjoyable day well worth the journey to get to Lords.
