Eighteen-year-old Adele Adkins, fresh from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, uploaded a three-track demo to MySpace as a class project. Within months, XL Recordings came calling. She signed her first record deal, joining a label roster that included Radiohead and The White Stripes.

Named after her age when she wrote most of its songs, 19 debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Public transport runs to the venue on the day. Your event manager sends the route and nearest station with the booking confirmation.
Black cabs and ride-share apps are available across the local area. Drop-offs on the day depend on road closures; the booking confirmation flags the nearest set-down point.
Chauffeured cars or coaches for larger parties can be arranged through your event manager. Pricing is case-by-case and varies with party size.

Nothing quite prepares you for the scale of what happened next. 21, powered by the singles "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You", sold over 31 million copies worldwide. It spent 24 weeks at number one in the UK and 24 non-consecutive weeks atop the US Billboard 200. At the 2012 Grammy Awards, Adele swept six categories, matching Beyoncé's record for most wins by a female artist in a single night.
"Skyfall" took the Oscar for Best Original Song, the first Bond theme to do so, and Adele also picked up an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
Co-written with Paul Epworth, "Skyfall" became the first Bond theme to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Adele performed it live at the 85th Academy Awards ceremony in February 2013, and the single sold over five million copies. She also received an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to music.
3.38 million copies in a single American week; a streaming age, and yet the old rules still applied.
After a four-year absence, Adele returned with "Hello", which became the first song to sell over one million digital copies in its debut week in the US. The album 25 followed, selling 3.38 million copies in its first week in America alone, the highest single-week total since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991. In the UK, it shifted 800,000 copies in its first seven days. The numbers were staggering, particularly in an era when streaming had supposedly killed album sales.
A hundred thousand people in a Somerset field watched a nervous first-timer conquer the world's most iconic stage.
On 25 June 2016, Adele took to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury for the Saturday night headline slot. It was her first festival appearance and she made no secret of her nerves, but the performance was a triumph. An estimated 100,000 people watched from the fields of Worthy Farm. The same year, she embarked on the Adele Live 2016 tour, which grossed over $167 million across 107 shows in Europe, North America, and Oceania.
Nearly 400,000 fans witnessed history; none knew it would be her final tour.
Adele closed her world tour with four sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium in June and July 2017, performing to nearly 400,000 people across the run. She damaged her vocal cords during the final shows and was forced to cancel the last two dates. It would be her final traditional concert tour. The Adele Live 2016-17 tour ultimately grossed over $167 million from 121 shows.
Thirty countries at number one within days; absence, it turns out, had only sharpened the appetite.
Six years between albums. A divorce. A move to Los Angeles. When 30 finally arrived in November 2021, led by the single "Easy On Me", it debuted at number one in over 30 countries. In the UK, it became the fastest-selling album of 2021 within a single day of release. The record was more introspective than its predecessors, dealing openly with the end of her marriage, but it proved that Adele's audience had only grown during her absence.
Delayed by a single day's notice, the residency still sold out and kept selling.
After a painful postponement in January 2022, just 24 hours before opening night, Weekends with Adele finally launched on 18 November 2022 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The 4,100-seat venue, purpose-built for Celine Dion's residency, proved the perfect setting: intimate enough for Adele's between-song storytelling, grand enough for the orchestral arrangements. The residency was originally scheduled for 32 dates but demand was so extraordinary it was extended repeatedly.
Four-figure resale prices told the story; a century of sold-out shows sealed it.
Weekends with Adele concluded on 23 November 2024 after 100 performances. The residency had become the hottest ticket in Las Vegas, with resale prices regularly reaching four figures. Between the Colosseum run and a series of open-air shows in Munich's Messe during August 2024, Adele performed to hundreds of thousands of fans. She has since indicated she plans to take an extended break from music, making these recent shows all the more significant for those who were there.
