Newton Heath meet Wolves for the first time.

Wolves were five years into league football when Newton Heath arrived as fresh-faced newcomers in 1892.
The clubs first crossed paths in the Football League's First Division during the 1892-93 season, when Manchester United were still known as Newton Heath. Wolves had already been a Football League founder member since 1888 and were the more established outfit. Newton Heath, freshly elected to the League after the merger of the Football Alliance, were finding their feet in the top flight.
