American composer Paul Nordoff and British special education teacher Clive Robbins began collaborating on a pioneering approach to music therapy, working with children with disabilities at Sunfield School in Worcestershire. Their method, using live, improvised music to reach people whom conventional therapies could not, would grow into one of the most respected therapeutic practices in the world.
