The Oval sits in Kennington, south of the river and barely a long-hop from the Houses of Parliament. Surrey have played here since 1845, and it staged the first Test match played in England, back in 1880.
It is the ground where the Ashes began, in 1882, and it has closed the English summer ever since; the last Test of the season is almost always played here, often with something still to settle. The gasholders behind the pavilion are listed now, saved from demolition, and frame every photograph taken from the far end.
Hospitality runs through the pavilion and the OCS Stand, with lunch and tea on the cricket's timetable and Vauxhall a few minutes' walk for the trains home. Borough and Bermondsey are a short hop for dinner afterwards. We handle the seats, the food and the host; you get the cricket and a London evening to follow.
