Chase Raceday Hospitality

The Chase Raceday on the 17th of January marks the start of the new Jumps season at Ascot. The centrepiece of the day is the Clarence House Chase, a Grade 1 steeplechase that’s run over two miles and a furlong. It’s a sharp test of speed and jumping, with thirteen fences packed into the distance. Because it’s early in the season, the race often gives you a first look at the top horses that will go on to contest the major spring festivals. Your ticket gives you a private table for the day in the On 5 restaurant. As the name suggests, it’s on the fifth floor of the Grandstand, so you have a clear, elevated view across the whole course and down to the winning post. There’s a private terrace attached to the restaurant, which means you can step outside to watch the races without needing to head down into the main stands.

Dress code

No formal dress code is required in either enclosure for Chase Raceday however like all Ascot meets, smart dressing is encouraged. Many guests opt for a winter coat and hat also due to the time of year during the jump season.

Getting there

By car, Ascot Racecourse is close to the M3, M4, M40 & M25 Motorways meaning an easy drive to the racecourse. If you are arriving by taxi, your taxi can drop you right outside the racecourse easily. Our elite packages will provide you and your guests with a parking label. This label allows you to park for free in your allocated car park which is only a short walk away from the racetrack. Many guests opt to take the train to the racecourse. Ascot Station is only a 7-minute walk from the racecourse and there is a path for you to easily walk along.  From London Waterloo to Ascot, you can take a direct train for an average of 52 minutes. South Western Railway train also travels directly from Clapham Junction, Richmond and Twickenham.
