Our best tips
Madrid in September runs warm and dry, with afternoon highs near 27°C and evenings cooling to the mid-teens. Pack lightweight layers, sunglasses, and sun cream for paddock days. Rain is rare but a brief thunderstorm is possible.
There is no formal dress code at most circuits, but smart casual is the norm in hospitality areas. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, as paddock and grandstand areas involve plenty of ground to cover.
Bring sunscreen and a hat if racing in a warm climate. Ear protection is also worth considering, particularly in the grandstands closest to the track.

Getting around
The hotel sits in the city by the Manzanares, so the new Madring is a run out to the IFEMA grounds on the north-east edge.
It runs past one in the morning and dodges the one-way grid, crossing the centre faster than a car after dinner.
