The Monaco Grand Prix is born on the streets of Monte Carlo.

A Bugatti, borrowed streets, and one bold vision; Noghès and Grover-Williams wrote the blueprint Monte Carlo still follows.
On 14 April 1929, the first Monaco Grand Prix took place on a 3.18 km circuit winding through the streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine. The race was the brainchild of Antony Noghès, president of the Automobile Club de Monaco, and was won by William Grover-Williams in a Bugatti Type 35B. The tight, twisting layout through public roads established a template that would endure for nearly a century.
