Weather

Lake Como has a Mediterranean climate. September brings temperatures from the high teens to mid-twenties, with a lake breeze keeping things fresh. Evenings cool down but rarely drop below 14°C. Pack a light layer for after dark.

Dress code

Like all Grand Prix races, there’s no formal dress code, but smart/casual attire is generally recommended. The Italian Grand Prix in early September brings mid-twenties temperatures, so dress comfortably for the heat.

You stay on Lake Como, not in Monza

The included flights land in Milan with hotels on the lake, so Monza's royal park is the day-trip for the race.

The lake is the free-time mode

Hop the passenger boats between Como, Bellagio and Varenna for the evenings, a calm counter to the race weekend.

Italy has no UberX, so use FreeNow

Monza - first Grand Prix experience

I went to my first ever GP and what better way to do it than in Italy, at Monza.Everything went very smoothly.. From the airport transfers with the events team, checking in at the hotel nice and early by around midday (accompanied by a nice welcoming drink), drinks reception on the rooftop terrace area on the first evening, fantastic breakfast (they even opened the restaurant up early for us to grab some breakfast before heading to the track!)Monza itself was a spectacle, starting grid seats for the Saturday and Sunday... Brilliant experience from start to finish.Looking forward to it again next year.

Frequently Asked Questions

The drive from the Hilton Lake Como to Monza is roughly an hour. We arrange a group coach transfer from your hotel to the circuit and back, so you don't need to sort your own way there.

To visit Milan, the capital of fashion and design in Italy, from the Monza Circuit, it takes around 45 minutes by car.

In Monza on the outskirts of Milan

Four nights on Lake Como at your chosen hotel, grandstand tickets for Saturday qualifying and Sunday's race, a welcome reception, flights, and group coach transfers between hotel and circuit.

As early as you can. Monza weekends sell through quickly, and the Lake Como hotels we work with fill up months out. Book early and you get the pick of room types and grandstand positions.

The Palace is the grand, lakefront classic in Como town, formal service and proper history. The Hilton is newer, with a rooftop pool and water views. Both are four nights, double or twin.

We bundle the grandstand tickets, the right hotel, flights, transfers and a welcome reception into one trip. You turn up, we handle the moving parts. Lake Como in race week is not a DIY job.
