Silverstone Circuit sits in Northamptonshire, on a 1942 wartime airfield that became the founding venue of the Formula 1 World Championship in 1950. The 5.9 km circuit hosts the British Grand Prix in early July, with the Silverstone Festival adding a late-summer historic meeting.
