Crystal Palace are founded at the home of English football.

Born beneath a glass roof in 1905, Crystal Palace arrived into a Football League already shaped by the club from Manchester.
Crystal Palace Football Club was formed on 10 September 1905 at the Crystal Palace exhibition building in Sydenham, south London. The club took its name from the famous glass structure. Manchester United, then known as Newton Heath until 1902, were already well established in the Football League. The two clubs would not meet competitively for some years, but the seeds of a fixture spanning more than a century were planted.
